About This Book The "Gwinn Reunion Address Book" is 24 years old. This is its story. This photograph was
taken in 1984 at the Gwinn Reunion, held that year
at Vernon Gwinn's in Hampton, GA. So, the two girls interviewed everyone present at the 1984 reunion, collecting names, addresses, and telephone numbers (not many people had email addresses in those days). They wrote down this information in a notebook, which (in Laurale's lap in this photograph) was the first edition of the Gwinn Reunion Address Book. Leona Gwinn Brown, who had recently acquired an Osborne Executive personal computer running the CP/M operating system, converted the notebook into its first electronic format and printed it. Later, it was maintained by the family of Laban Gwinn's daughter Pat and her daughter Gwyn; and, later still, by Nelson Gwinn. It has been most recently updated by Tom Brown (Leona's son), and is available in electronic format here. The Address Book is--and has always been--a mini-genealogy of the descendants of Loomis and Rosa Gwinn. It is arranged in descending order of age, beginning with the oldest son (Carl) and ending with the youngest daughter (Leila); then their descendants, also by age, and so forth. The indentation on each page (which we try to keep straight) indicates the successive generations.
